Welcome to Hewens Primary - A ‘listening’ school, run for the community
welcome to hewens primary

Thank you for your interest in Hewens Primary, a brand new 2 Form Entry Free School for children between 3 and 11 years of age.

This prospectus is written with parents, guardians and carers in mind in the hope that the information provided will be useful in capturing what is important to us and emphasising the ethos which underpins everything we set out to do.

Hewens Primary School is part of a family of schools sponsored by The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust, an educational provider held in high regard both locally and nationally. Given its proven track record of success, the new School will be guided by the principles, values and policies which have delivered success for learners consistently across the Trust. As such, one of our fundamental beliefs is that children thrive in small educational settings where they are each known as individuals. To this end, Hewens Primary will remain smaller than many local schools so that staff can actively engage with parents, guardians and carers in planning each child’s learning journey.

In this setting, we promote a calm and ordered environment where children are encouraged to become confident, caring and articulate, using their aptitudes and abilities to the full. We encourage courtesy and respect and recognise that the development of these and other social skills will be significant, enabling each child to be successful. Our school is a place where children are happy and enjoy their learning, experiencing inspirational standards of teaching which allow them each to flourish and reach their full potential.

As a ‘listening’ school, we ensure that you have a say about your child’s learning and development. Our aim is to keep you fully involved; supporting your child in every way we can; recognising that each family has its own unique circumstances. With this in mind, we offer a range of additional services, starting with a breakfast club at 8.00am, a tea time club immediately after school and an extra-curricular programme which continues until 6.00pm daily. In short, the School is run by the community, for the community.

We hope that this information will encourage you to visit Hewens Primary School. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
